This data centre provides back-up and remote access should there be a major outage at any of the other centres. It is built on Tier 4 operation with 3 x 1400kVA generators operating in N+1. UPS systems are operating in N+1 and 2N with Load Bus Synchronisation between the 2N. A further 2N UPS system will be added as the site expands.
Due to the large number of UPS systems providing the Tier 4 operation the customer selected the AVK Titan UPS system. The Titan offers IGBT rectification removing the problems associated with harmonics caused by thyristor rectifiers used by others when on generator.
